CCR 22 –
Showcasing our sector

What a great day I had at CCR – the event’s certainly back on the calendar after the uncertainty and slow restart of the last couple of years.

It was great to see familiar faces, catching up and sharing valuable insight, as well as some new offerings, and not so familiar faces!

It was great to see a few of my old Allergan colleagues – Richard Crawford Small and just about the entire Evolus team! Looks like there are exciting times ahead for them as they bring a fresh new FDA approved toxin to the market place with some fabulous branding.

Stands seemed to be bigger than ever – all singing and dancing – lights, screens, signage, smiling engaged reps – there was even a DJ and cocktails on offer! What’s very evident to me with over three decades industry experience, is that there are fresh brands that are specifically targeting a younger audience. Dermal fillers are no longer for filling, the focus is most definitely on enhancing and plumping – especially lips and cheeks.

The conference rooms were busy with highly experienced practitioners sharing the latest techniques with colleagues and newcomers to the sector. The business theatre was also packed throughout with people hungry to learn. Looking at some of the statistics that were presented there is certainly a growing appetite for treatments amongst all age groups.

As someone who’s been in the industry since the late 1980’s it was quite something to reflect on how far the aesthetics sector has come and how vibrant it is. The evolution of treatments and ever-expanding portfolios offering a myriad of solutions – simply astounding!

What an exciting time to be working in the aesthetics sector – I’m looking forward to what comes next!
